The West Orange Eruv was first erected on April 15, 1983 under the leadership of Rabbi Alvin M. Marcus, Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation AABJ&D, and Rabbi Hillel Horowitz, Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Beth Israel, with the halakhic guidance of Rabbi Shimon Eider Z"L of Lakewood, NJ.

The Eruv is currently under the Rabbinic Authority of Rabbi Eliezer Zwickler of Congregation AABJ&D and Rabbi Mark Spivak of Congregation Ohr Torah. The Eruv is maintained and checked weekly by the Assistant Rabbi of Congregation AABJ&D, Rabbi Michael Bleicher. Additionally, has been checked and it is functional for Shabbat there will be an "E" hanging from the sign of Congregation AABJ&D, 700 Pleasant Valley Way.
